Owning Vis Waiver rights to EU/Schengen Area Member States since years, Saint Kitts and Nevis has been confirmed in 2016, will also be recipient of the the ETIAS Visa Waiver protocol to be inaugurated in January 2025.

ETIAS as a mandatory prerequisite for journeys whose purpose is either tourism, business, transit and medical treatment to any of the 34 ETIAS Member Nations
Total stay in the ETIAS Area in its entirety must be inside the line of 90 out of every 180 days

Suitable for travels for either tourism, business, medical care or transit with a duration of no longer than 90 days in 180 days, ETIAS will therefore be soon required to all Saint Kitts and Nevis passport holders provided that they do are not holders of a valid Schengen Visa or Residence Permit.
Saint Kitts and Nevis travelers planning to sojourn in Europe more than 90 days within 6 months or whose purpose of the trip is not included in the short list above will still be required to apply for a Consular Visa.
Travel purposes that are not covered by ETIAS are for instance work, study, family reunification and moving one’s residence.
Although ETIAS is not technically fit for long term study programs in the EU, it must be highlighted that the Visa Waiver can be used by for short training programs if the stay in the ETIAS countries area will not exceed the limit of stay as previously summarized.

With the same provision involving all other 59 ETIAS Eligible Countries, Citizens of Saint Kitts and Nevis will be required to input a series of data to electronically submit their Visa Waiver application.
Among these mandatory data are:- Full name and surname
- Birth date
- Birth place
- Birth country
- Passport number
- Passport’s place and authority of issue
- Passport’s issue and expiry date
- Contact details including a valid e-mail address
- Scheduled arrival date in ETIAS Area
- First country of intended stay in Europe
- Eligibility questions
- Background and former immigration to EU history
Once ETIAS application will be sent forward through payment of the ETIAS taxes, all the information will be cross checked by EU Institutions and a number of security databases.
The cross-checking protocol is scrupulous and yet very swift and is expected to allow most of the applicants from Saint Kitts and Nevis to receive the outcome of their application on their e-mail address in less 72 hours.Validity terms and practical use of ETIAS
Once issued, the ETIAS Visa Waiver for Saint Kitts and Nevis passport holders is valid for 3 years or until the passport expiry date (whichever incurs first) and allows for multiple entries in the EU/Schengen Area regardless of the place of start of the journey itself.
For each trip it is important that visitors make sure the passport used for the Visa Waiver application, and the Waiver itself, have a remaining validity long enough to cover for the whole duration of the trip planned with 3 additional months starting from the departure date from ETIAS Area.Additional documents required
Upon entering the EU, whether air, land or seaway Border Control Officers can always ask ETIAS holders from Saint Kitts and Nevis to show supporting documents to clarify the purpose of their travel and to make sure they do not plan to stay within the ETIAS Area longer than they should.
Among the additional documents that could be required are:- Proof of sufficient funds to support one’s stay in Europe
- Return ticket to the country of origin or onwards ticket to a non-ETIAS country
- Any other document that could demonstrate the actual aim of the journey
A health insurance, while mandatory for those whose possess a Schengen Consular Visa, is recommended but not compulsory to those who travel on an ETIAS Visa Waiver.
Once inside the ETIAS Area no border control is usually applied when moving from one Schengen Country to another; still, it is always advisable for each traveler to carry upon such transfers to hold a copy of their valid Visa Waiver and all the other recommended additional documents as lifted above.
