Upon entering Germany, whether air, land, or seaway, and regardless of the place of origin of the trip, Border Control Officers can always ask ETIAS holders from any of the 60 eligible countries to show supporting documents to assess the genuine purpose and duration of their planned stay.

- Return ticket to the country of origin
- Onwards ticket to a non-ETIAS country
